HebronConnect+: Bridging the Gap Between IT and Universities

This piece of article tells about the setting out on the educational awareness mission across Ukrainian universities for establishing long-lasting relationships with gifted students and their academic advisers.

In recent years, Ukraine has made a significant shift towards Western democratic values. To uphold the stance of development, ensuring the continuity of generations to make these changes permanent is imperative for our society.

Here is where Ukrainian businesses can contribute to the overall rethinking strategy by means of getting closer to the talented youth. With the IT sector being no exception, Hebron has taken the initiative to bring together technology innovations and university curriculums. The rationale behind HebronConnect+ is to share the best IT practices with high school and university students who oftentimes lack practical insights.
Here at HebronSoft, we always practice what we preach. From the outset, the Hebron team decided to build ties with younger generations of Ukrainians. As an emerging software development company, HebronSoft has vast expertise along with numerous successful cases. Via various channels, we keep evangelizing about the importance of digital literacy for students and are always ready to share our hands-on experience with aspiring IT professionals.

HebronConnect+: This fall’s educational campaign

This time around, two of our most inspirational speakers and business visionaries—Ihor Bula, the Co-Founder and COO at HebronSoft, and Fedir Savko, our People Operations Partner—set out on the educational awareness mission across Ukrainian universities. The primary goal of our promotion campaign was to establish long-lasting relationships with gifted students and their academic advisers.
To start with, the Hebron team headed to the city of Kamianets-Podіlskyi that is within the Khmelnytskyi region. Our leaders managed to visit two main city’s educational institutions—Kamianets-Podіlskyi National Ivan Ohiienko University and the College of Food Industry, a regional educational unit of the National University of Food Technology.
To listen to the seasoned professionals from HebronSoft, lots of students majoring in Computer Science & Information Technology, Mathematics & Physics, and Foreign Philology eagerly gathered on the university premises.

HebronConnect+: The meeting agenda

Truth be told, the discussion with students was quite frank and lively providing them with a great learning experience. The company officials, Ihor and Fedir, were pretty convincing when it came to explaining to the audience the importance of digital transformation and the role of emerging technology trends for today’s society. The students took an active part in the conversation asking about what types of careers they could apply to after graduation.
For the uninitiated, the IT industry is strongly associated with tech-savvy specialists only. Unlike the conventional wisdom, the HebronSoft IT evangelists revealed to the public that there are many more job opportunities in Ukrainian IT companies for talented youth. All graduates from the humanities, arts, and social sciences are capable to choose a career path in IT as:

  • Software Engineer
  • Mobile App Software Developer
  • Frontend, Backend, or Full-Stack Web Developer
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Tester, Engineer, and Analyst
  • Project Manager
  • UI/UX Designer
  • And many others

The discussion helped students to connect the dots between the IT theory they study at the university and the reality. The meeting received broad approval and media exposure by both university students and officials.

IT career with Hebron: Further plans and prospects for self-development

After all, all the evidence suggests that most of the students have decided to give it a try with IT careers. To make sure they are on the right track, the HebronSoft team together with academic supervisors have established the strategic roadmap for further students’ professional development.
To begin with, the students have been tasked with a self-study IT & Software course program on Udemy, a leading online learning platform. Once they make it through, HebronSoft is going to provide the go-getters with extensive mentor-facilitated training initiatives on Node.js and DevOps topics.

Let’s wait and see what the future holds for all of these young ones. Either way, here at HebronSoft we will do the best we can to help them out with promising job opportunities and career growth.
